Grandma's Biscuits
R. DAWSON & S. FINK

Remember the story old Grace would tell

You dropped the bucked in the farmhouse well

Best get our horses now while we can

When you eat my dust, Sam, you'll understand

Let's take it in stride

An ambling gait

Gonna miss supper

Lest we hesitate

She'd tell us tales of a demon's disguise

Those old tales would have us mesmerized

She'd pull a stick and light a cigarette

Put it back in the fire and we'd place our bet

Now boys I can't lie

It's getting late

She said tomorrow

I'll tell you his fate

Charlie and young Chico laid in the sun

Gracie made biscuits; we polished our guns

Pat of butter made them taste so good

Chico chased old Charlie into the woods

Now maybe tonight

She'd tell us straight

How things will end

No, we can't wait

I said, "Now, Grandma, won't you ever tell

The end of the tale that you know so well?"

"Throw your caution, boys, to the wind

You'll find all the answers around the bend"

Now watch the sunrise

The day awaits

Flour on the counter

Won't tell you his fate
